Kieron
Grey, a native of Washington State, spent her formative years
in New York City were she was exposed to and studied a variety
of visual arts. Upon returning to Seattle, she worked for
Ti Hatamoto of Sound Winds, where she assisted with the creation
of a variety of windsocks and banners that have become popular
around the world for their recognizable imaginative designs.
She continued to pursue exploration of the visual arts in
a variety of traditional mediums and currently, she is steadily
working as a graphic artist.
Every
artist needs their Muse, and Kieron’s journey toward
her inspiration came from the most unexpected place - the
cult television show “Xena, Warrior Princess”.
Watching the series set in the days of the Roman Empire, she
absorbed a variety of images of molded leather costumes worn
by the characters of the show. The images worked their way
into her psyche, and the result was the creation of a new
art form, Life Size Leather Sculpture, that combines many
traditional art practices.
Kieron
is now introducing this art form in Seattle and the response
has been phenomenal. She currently is working on several commissioned
works for private individuals as well as creating pieces for
public display.
